The Three Types of Leveling Kits

Not all trucks use the same front suspension, so leveling kits come in different forms:

• Strut spacers — used on Ford F-150, Toyota Tundra, and other strut-equipped trucks. These bolt on top of the strut to add 2–2.5 inches of height. Simple, reliable, and on the more affordable end.
• Coil spacers — used on Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Ram 1500, and similar trucks with coil spring front suspensions. The spacer sits above or below the coil to raise the ride height.
• Torsion keys — used on older GM trucks and some Silverados with torsion bar front suspensions. The aftermarket keys allow more pre-load on the torsion bar, which raises the front end.
