1. Check Your Tires

2. Get a Wheel Alignment

Potholes from last winter may have knocked your alignment off. Misaligned wheels cause uneven tire wear, which is even more dangerous on icy roads. Schedule an alignment before the first freeze.

Stopping distance doubles on wet roads and triples on ice. Have your brakes inspected — worn pads or warped rotors are a serious winter safety risk.

Antifreeze/coolant should be a 50/50 mix. Use winter-rated washer fluid (rated to -20°F). Check power steering and brake fluid levels.
