When to Choose the KO2
- You go off-road regularly (trails, rocks, deep gravel)
- You need large tire sizes (35" - 37")
- You tow heavy loads and need sidewall strength
- You want the iconic KO2 look (it's a head-turner)
- Budget isn't the #1 concern
When to Choose the AT3W
- You mostly drive on highways with occasional gravel/dirt
- You want a quieter ride on the highway
- You want to save $250-400 on a set of 4
- You prioritize wet traction (KC gets plenty of rain)
- You want a longer tread warranty
Our Recommendation
For 70% of our Kansas City customers, the Falken AT3W is the better choice. It's quieter, cheaper, has a longer warranty, and performs nearly as well as the KO2 in the conditions most KC drivers actually encounter (highways, rain, occasional gravel).
Choose the KO2 if you regularly hit trails, need 35"+ sizes, or tow heavy. The KO2 is genuinely tougher — its CoreGard sidewall technology handles rocks and curbs better.
